Meet Our Team

Chapter Director - Eric Chabot

Eric Chabot was raised in a mainline denomination in Bexley, Ohio, but came to faith in the Lord in his mid-20’s. Eric holds an M.A. in Religious Studies from Southern Evangelical Seminary. He lives in Pickerington, Ohio with his wife Lucy and two children. Eric has been doing campus apologetics for nearly 16 years and is the director of Ratio Christi (“Reasons for Christ”) apologetics chapter on the campus of The Ohio State University and Columbus State Community College. Ratio Christi, a nationwide apologetics ministry at OSU and CSCC, seeks to encourage and strengthen the faith of students at secular institutions across the country through the use of intellectual investigation and apologetics—while also sharing the Messiah’s message and love to those that have yet to receive it. Ratio Christi believe that the church has failed to address the pressing questions of worldview, science, philosophy, history, et al. Situating these apologetic chapters at universities across the country is an important step in reversing the skepticism that permeates many educational institutions. Through weekly meetings, regular engagement with students and hosting events on campus, Ratio Christi desires to see people have a safe place to ask their questions. The apologetics minDr. Michael Licona, Dr. Frank Turek, Dr. James Tour, James Warner Wallace, Dr. Michael Strauss and Dr. William Lane Craig.

Student President - Emily Thompson

Emily’s bio is forthcoming!

Assistant Chapter Director - Jeremiah Smith

Jeremiah grew up in a Christian home and committed his life to Christ at an early age. During his teenage years he gained an interest in apologetics, theology, and how to think critically about the intersection of faith and culture under the influence of his high school youth pastor. That lead him to join the Ratio Christi student organization at OSU as an undergrad student from 2015-2018 where he served as student president for 2 of those years. After receiving his B.S. in Human Development and Family Science he went on to serve in Milan, Italy for two years, helping a local church do college ministry through English Clubs. His main interests of study are faith deconstruction, doubt, and social philosophy surrounding Charles Taylor’s “A Skeptical Age.” When he’s not reading a book or doing campus evangelism, Jeremiah enjoys running and cycling along the Olentangy Trail, playing basketball, and getting engrossed in a good video game.

Assistant of General Operations - Carla Brown

Carla grew up in northeast Ohio and moved to southern California when she 18 years old. There she discovered a relational faith while attending Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, and after graduating from Calvary Chapel Bible School, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona. There she served in a couple of churches and got married to her fiancé, Dave. They later decided to move to central Ohio to help plant a church, and Dave became the senior pastor in 1991. He passed away in 2013, leaving her a single mother of four children. Three years later she decided to try campus evangelism at The Ohio State University. When she realized the need for further training, she providentially ran into the Ratio Christi table on the Oval in the fall of 2016. She plugged into the weekly meetings and then went on to earn her Certificate in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. She enjoys campus outreach and is thankful to be in a field where the learning never ends!
